What an account holds and what it can spend.

A balance describes funds held by an account. Accounts may hold more than one balance, for example in different currencies.

Concepts

Available — funds that can be spent now.
Pending — funds reserved or in transit that are not yet available.

Read balances before initiating payments from constrained clients such as robots or USSD sessions, and subscribe to balance changes via webhooks rather than polling.
